(Wednesday April 5)
A volunteer firefighter in Susquhanna County was called in to fight a blaze, only to discover it was at his own house.
Flames gutted the home on Orphans School Road in Harford and it took crews from five companies hours to put it out.
18-year-old James Pickering was at school, but got the call for help -- one that turned personal that moment he heard the address.
"I never thought this would come to be my own house burning down and me having to be here with it," said Pickering.
He had been living in the house for three years.
Even the fire chief didn`t recognize whose house it was at first.
No one was hurt in the fire.
Firefighters are still looking for a cause, but they don`t believe it`s suspicious.
They think it started in the front room of the house.
A state police fire marshal will be on the scene tomorrow morning.
