Man In Custody After Robbery And Shooting

One man is in custody after a robbery and shooting in south Scranton Monday morning. Court papers say 27 year old Gorge Cruz Rivera, who is from Puerto Rico, but was living in Scranton walked into the La Amistad #4 Bakery at Prospect Avenue and Beech Streets and robbed the place. One of the owners, Gilberto Mejia, then decided to go after him. He hopped in his car and that`s when he says Rivera started shooting at him. Rivera was eventually apprehended by police. Police found the black handgun inside of a cemetery five blocks away from the bakery. It was shooting blanks and nobody was hurt. This isn`t the first time the bakery was robbed. On January 3, two masked gunmen walked in a robbed the place. They got away.
