State Representatives put off a planned vote on a bill that would lower property taxes.
Senators passed the measure yesterday.. that would provide tax breaks to homeowners throughout the Commonwealth..
The money would be off-set by revenues from slot machine gambling.
No word on the reason for the delay on the vote tonight.
Governor Rendell supports the measure.. and says he will sign it into law.. if and when- it passes the house.
Lawmakers did pass legislation that forces local governments, businesses and non-profit groups to re-pay state grants if the money is used to employ illegal immigrants.
This bill was introduced last year when federal immigration agents.. raided a Wal-Mart Distribution Center under construction in Pottsville.
The bill`s sponsor is Republican Representative Bob Allen -- of Schuylkill County.
The bill passed both the house and senate.. and now moves on the governor for his signature.
