Scranton Fire (04/30/06)

Fire broke out around 1 Sunday morning inside a home on Quincy Avenue. Firefighters say flames were shooting from the roof when they arrived. Flames spread to an apartment building next door. The fire chief says that buidling suffered mostly smoke and water damage. There are no reports of injuries, but rescue crews were forced to physically remove a woman from the burning home after she refused to leave due to her cat. The American Red Cross was on the scene to help with those who needed it. The fire is now under investigation.
