breaking news
At least three bar break-ins in a matter of days are keeping Scranton police busy.
They are now trying to determine if any of them are connected, including two overnight... within 30 minutes of each other.
The first happened just before 3 a.m. at
"Villa Maria II" restaurant and bar on Washburn Street on the city`s west side.
Detectives dusted for fingerprints after someone broke into the building, then got into vending machines and possibly a safe.
About a half hour later, police were called to "Waldo`s Tavern" on Green Ridge Street.
A person living above the bar heard a noise downstairs and chased a man outside who got away. The intruders stole money from video game machines.
Cops also responded to a possible break-in at the Barnwood Inn on Luzerne Street. It`s unclear --if anything was taken.
