breaking news
Ed Bessermin and his wife arrived at 55 Lackawanna Avenue just after two this afternoon where they found their garage on fire.
All three Swoyersville fire companies responded to the scene to quickly douse the flames. Firefighters believe the flames broke out inside Bessermin`s 1955 Dodge Cornette. The antique car suffered heavy damage - while the garage only has minor damage.
The owner says he was working on the car earlier morning -and is still in shock.
((Ed Bessermin)) "I ran over here, they weren`t home - i ran over there. There goes my 50 years of the antique collection and everything that`s in that garage."
In all, more than a dozen fire and police responders were called to this garage fire.
