Dallas Township Drug Raid 11/20/05

The Luzerne County Drug Task Force, Kingston Narcotics Unit and Dallas Township Police executed a search warrant at 277 Ransom Road in Dallas. Police arrested 5 people, Ryan Pinkney. Or Peanut, Jermaine Freeman, Stacey Devens, Nicholas Devens and Takeala Wilson. Pinkney is currently on parole in New Jersey for felony drug charges. Investigators say the warrant was the result of a month long investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine being brought in from New Jersey. Police tell us they seized over 2800-hundred dollars in cash, over 145 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, cell phone and drug paraphernalia. Police say Pinkney, a resident of Jersey City, was the ring leader and was bringing in an estimated 5 to 10 thousand dollars of heroin and crack cocaine each week to the home of stacey devens for distribution in the Back Mountain, Pittston and Kingston areas. The 5 people arrested now face several drug charges. Bail was set for all 5 at 100 thousand dollars straight bail. And a Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for Next Tuesday.
