No smiles for 43-year-old Doctor Alireza Asgari in Luzerne County Court for sentencing Monday. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to 37 felony charges and 42 misdemeanors stemming from shoddy and unnecessary dental work between 1998 and 2002. Asgari fell to his knees in the court room when he learned he`ll spend the next two and a half to five years in prison.. followed by 15 years probation. Joe klein was one of his patients. "We were afraid in the beginning that he might only get one year.. stop him from being deported this will keep him in jail for a while." An immigration judge will now decide whether Asgari will be deported back to his native country of Iran.
