MEMBERS OF "THERAPY DOGS INTERNATIONAL." CAME TO VISIT THIRD GRADERS AT WYOMING VALLEY SEMINARY LOWER SCHOOL TODAY. "They give emotional support to people in need." THE ANIMALS LEND THEIR TIME AND TALENTS TO NURSING HOMES AND HOSPITALS. BUT TODAY, THEY WERE DRESSED IN HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR THE CHILDRENS` READING PROGRAM. "It`s a once in a lifetime opportunity and it`s just really fun. The dogs are so calm and I like to read." "Especially children who have difficulty reading and are often afraid to read aloud in the classroom, these dogs give them one on one attention." EDUCATORS SAY IT`S A UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCE. "They`re calm, they`re playful, they`re good listeners and the children in return receive that love and attention back." THERAPY DOGS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES. THEY MUST PASS NUMEROUS TESTS TO GET CERTIFIED. "The dogs go to obedience school where you learn to control your dog."
