Updated: January 25, 2007
Representatives from Penn-Environment were in Scranton, delivering a message to Congressman Paul Kanjorski. They want the state and federal government to take steps to bring down gas and oil prices and are asking the Congressman to co-sponsor a bill that would require car makers to build more fuel-efficient cars. "Specifically these are things like encouraging car pooling, encouraging programs where folks can work from home, basically a lot of policies that would help us reduce our demand on oil." A spokesperson for Congressman Kanjorski says he will consider signing a fuel efficiency bill after he reviews the impact it may have on the economy and fuel consumption.
