West Nile Detected in Wilkes-Barre 9/1

Small ponds causing big concerns in the Wyoming Valley tonight. Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus were found in this small creek near Empire Street in Wilkes-Barre. The virus also turned up in three other test pools in Edwardsville and Kingston. Luzerne County`s West Nile Prevention Coordinator says this discovery is in sharp contrast to 2004. County crews will begin spraying in Wilkes-Barre as well as Kingston and Edwardsville next Wednesday evening.
