Goulds Pmp Strike Over 8/22/05

It is over, the nine day strike at Goulds Pumps in Schuykill County will end tonight. The annoucement was made by company officials this afternoon. Workers walked off the job in Ashland earlier this month. The 240 unionized workers agreed to a new, 4-year contract. Employees say they went on strike because of healthcare benefits and pensions. Company officials say they expect workers to report for third shift tonight.
