SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- In an update on a story the I-Team broke last year, Edna Burgette, who placed foreign exchange students in Lackawanna County, has agreed to plead guilty to federal mail fraud charges. The I-Team uncovered deplorable conditions in homes where Burgette placed foreign exchange students. Now police say she sent false information about those students to the federal government. Burgette faces 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. She still faces criminal charges regarding those housing conditions in Lackawanna County.
