By: Import User
Updated: January 25, 2007
The results are unofficial, but Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty appears to have edged out Council President Gary DiBileo for both the Democratic and Republican nominations for November`s general election. Soem confusion remains: overnight the write-ins on one voting machine in West Scranton were impounded. On the Democratic side, Mr. Doherty garnered roughly 50 percent of the total in the three-way race with Mr. DiBileo and Kathleen McGuigan, a Scranton School Board member. The margin separating him and Mr. DiBileo for the GOP nod was roughly 60 votes, with the incumbent getting about 52 percent of the total.
