Flooded Golf Course Reopening 5/12/05

By: Import User
Updated: January 25, 2007
"Shawnee on Delaware" Golf Course was scheduled to reopen a month ago but the flood cleanup has taken longer than expected. In the meantime, other area golf courses have helped Shawnee accomodate visiting golfers. All the greens on the 27 hole course were salvaged and employees have been busy removing mud, replacing sand and laying sod. Most of the holes are on an island in the Delaware River and when the river rose, the bridge to gain access to the golf course also washed out and had to be replaced. Shawnee will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
