Emergency Communication Cut 2/4/05

By: Import User
Updated: January 25, 2007
The radio system dispatchers use to talk to police, fire and ambulance crews- went down for about 20 minutes. Officials used a contingency plan where calls are dispatched using cell phones. But they`re worried about a long term solution since this is the second time in two weeks the system has had problems. Emergency Service officials say they are concerned and planned to make alterations to the system so that even if we were not able to transmit that the police, fire and ambulance could talk to each other. Those changes, though, are still in the works. During the problem time this all calls coming into the center were answered, and all emergency crews were dispatched
