Updated: January 25, 2007
A Dunmore businessman has reportedly purchased a landmark in the Poconos. Mount Airy Lodge has been closed since 2001, after filing for bankruptcy. Now, The Allentown "Morning Call" reports that Mount Airy is sold. It also says Louis Denaples, the owner of Keystone Landfill, has already approached Paradise township, where Mount Airy is located, inquiring about demolition and building permits. The buzz is he wants to turn it into a slot machine casino. The governor signed a bill into law, allowing slot machine gambling in some parts of the state.
