Latest Road losings--Noon Update

NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA (September 21, 2004) PennDOT advises drivers that a list of state roads remain closed today (Tuesday, September 21) in Northeastern Pennsylvania because of flooding and other problems caused by the weekend heavy rains. PennDOT crews continue to assess the damage and make repairs. Here is the latest list of road closing and restrictions in PennDOT District 4 which includes Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties (as of NOON - 9/21/04): NOTE: * indicates an update since 8:45 AM news release. LACKAWANNA COUNTY: · PA Route 502 near Nesbitt Reservoir and the Luzerne County line: One of three lanes on PA 502 closed. Traffic is moving in both directions. · Pittston Avenue (State Route 3023) near the intersection with Brook St, in Scranton: Road closed by sinkhole. No estimate on when it may reopen. · State Route 1017 (Chapman Lake Rd), Scott Township: Closed between State Route 1006 and PA 107. Expected to remain closed for at least a week. · State Route 4011 (Turnpike Rd), Glenburn Township and Dalton. Remains closed. LUZERNE COUNTY: · State Route 2045 (S Main Rd), Mountain Top remains closed because of damage stone arch. · State Route 3036 (River Road), Hollenback and Nescopeck Townships. Expected to reopen by 9 AM (Tuesday 9/21). PIKE COUNTY: · US Route 209 (National Park Service Road) between PA 739 and Bushkill: Remains closed. · State Route 1002 (Greeley Lake Rd), Lackawaxen Township: Remains closed just west of Greeley. · State Route 1003 (Rowland Rd), Lackawaxen Township. Remains closed. · State Route 1005 (Twin Lakes Rd), Shohola Township, Remains closed because of mudslide in the area near intersection with Bee Hollow Rd (State Route 1008). · State Route 1012 (German Hill Road) Shohola & Lackawaxen Townships: Remains closed in an area east of Lackawaxen. · State Route 1017 (Delaware Dr), Westfall Township: One lane now open. · State Route 4006 (Towpath Rd), Lackawaxen Township: Remains closed in an area west of Rowland. Expected to reopen today (Tuesday, 9/21). SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY: · *PA Route 706, west of New Milford in New Milford Township: Both lanes now open. · *State Route 2016, Lenox Township. Now open. · State Route 3001, Auburn Township: Remains closed between the junction with State Route 3009 and the Auburn Four Corners area. · State Route 4008 (Silver Creek Rd), Silver Lake and Franklin Townships. Remains closed. WAYNE COUNTY: · State Route 1011 between State Route 1013 (Perkins Pond Rd) and Vandine Rd, Berlin Township. Remains closed. · State Route 1023 (Pine Mill Rd/ Rifle Range Rd), Manchester Township: Remains closed at bridge north of Lebanon Township line. · State Route 3006 (Ledgedale Rd), Salem Township: Remains closed near intersection with PA 507, Ledgedale. · State Route 3031 from PA 191 to Erie St. Remains closed. · State Route 4007, from State Route 1023 (Pine Mill Rd) to PA Route 371. Remains closed. · State Route 4009, Dyberry Twp from PA 191 to State Route 4007. Remains closed. · State Route 4014 (Maple Grove Road, Winterdale Rd), Preston and Scott Townships: Closed from Scott Center to Hancock, NY. Remains closed. · State Route 4017 (Egypt Rd), Dyberry and Mt Pleasant Townships: Remains closed by Dyberry Sand and Gravel. · State Route 4019 (Niles Pond Rd), Dyberry and Lebanon Townships: Remains closed between PA Route 191 and State Route 4007. · State Route 4043 (Gardiner Rd), from Sherman to the New York border, Scott Township. Remains closed WYOMING COUNTY: · PA Route 267: just north of Meshoppen. Remains closed. Expected long term closure. · State Route 1001, Tunkhannock Township: Remains closed south of Lake Carey, Expected long term closure. · State Route 2002 (Schoolhouse Rd), Monroe, Northmoreland and Exeter Townships. Remains closed. · State Route 3005 (Eaton Rd), Eaton Township. Remains closed. · State Route 4006 (Lacey St), Laceyville: Closed near the intersection with State Route 3001 (Church St). · *State Route 4002 in Mehoopany Township: Bridge closed · State Route 4015 (Schoolhouse Hill Rd), Meshoppen Townships: Remains closed near Meshoppen, Expected long term closure.
