Dunmore - With the warm weather scheduled for next week, a number of projects will be getting underway in the next few days. These include:

Lackawanna County:

Spruce/Moosic Street Bridge (SR 307) - - The Cedar Avenue ramp from Orchard Street to the Central Scranton Expressway will be closed on Monday at 9 a.m. The road will be closed until July as PennDOT begins work to replace the bridge on SR 307 (Moosic/Spruce Street Bridge). Posted detour will be Cedar Ave to Lackawanna to Spruce.

I-81 North - There will be a single lane closure on Interstate 81 North between Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) and Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Ave) for emergency pothole repairs. The closures will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Luzerne County

SR 3004 - There will be a single lane closure on SR 3004 in Newport Township as a contractor does bore drilling. Closures will be Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wyoming County

SR 1010 - Approach work begins on the Lackawanna Trail School Road Bridge on Monday. Crews will work Monday thru Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. right near the intersection of SR 92 There will be short stoppages for material deliveries but there will be minimal delays, to include very minimal delays on school traffic. This traffic pattern will be in place until April 2013.

SR 4002 - This week, crews will begin a bridge replacement project on SR 4002 in Mehoopany. There is a temporary bridge in place so delays should be minimal. Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone.

Columbia County

I-80 West - A contractor will restrict Interstate 80 westbound to one lane between mile 241 and exit 242 on Monday, March 11. This traffic pattern change will close the right lane between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. in order to install a new sign structure. As a reminder, the I-80 westbound Mifflinville on-ramp remains closed. This is due to merging-traffic safety concerns in the narrowed two-lane area. The ramp detour remains in effect.

From Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10 the Pennsylvania State Police will be conducting DUI checkpoints across northeastern Pennsylvania. Motorists are reminded to never drink and drive.
