The former reverend was recently convicted of killing his wife Betty Jean.
The D.A. said he wanted to tell people that the investigation took a lot of team work.
And that cases like this aren't about agencies, they are about the people behind the agencies.
"The public is paying a lot of us money right now in tax dollars they barely can afford to give to government services. They need to know that the people who serve them, here obviously we're talking about law enforcement agencies, are doing a good job and working hard for them under very trying circumstances." said E. David Christine, Monroe County District Attorney.
Six people received awards today.
