Williamsport, Lycoming County - The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) is accepting applications for the 2013 Margaret E. Waldron Memorial Fund grant cycle. The Waldron Fund will have $83,000 available for grant making to nonprofit organizations that benefit the residents of Muncy. Nonprofit organizations that are outside of Muncy may apply for funding, but must quantify the number of residents served by that organization.
The Waldron Memorial Fund salutes the memory of Margaret E. Waldron, a civic-minded visionary and philanthropist whose legacy primarily benefits residents of Muncy, Pennsylvania. In 1976, Margaret Waldron set forth provisions in her will for the establishment of a Trust to "support charitable, educational, religious, or health care purposes in and around the Borough of Muncy." Since its conception the Fund has awarded $3.64 million in grants and scholarships to benefit the residents of Muncy, Pennsylvania.
The Fund has a three-member advisory committee which makes recommendations on grants to the Foundation's Board of Directors. All committee members are residents of Muncy and are familiar with the community's needs.
Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2013 to be considered.
