Phone Scam Targets Latino Community in Hazleton

Hazleton, Luzerne County= Police in the hazleton area are warning about a phone scam targeting the Latino community.
     Investigators say the con artists may be based in another country. They are described as being very slick..
    They are calling members of the latino community-saying they are from the electric company-
   They the ask for personal information.
    Hazleton Police Chief Frank DeAndrea and  Amilcar Arroyo ,The editor of the Hazleton Spanish Newspaper are trying to get the word out
     

"Taking advantage of their own people in this situation.The economy,  winter is very very cold I don't like it .I'm very very disappointed for Hispanic people doing this." said Arroyo
 
  Police are trying to track down those behind the scam. If you hear from them call Hazleton  Police
