Homicide by Vehicle Suspect Turns Himself In

Effort, Monroe County - The suspect who hit and killed an elderly man while driving under the influence has surrendered to State Police. James York Jr. of Effort faces a slew of charges including homicide by a vehicle.  85-year old Walter Machalick was picking up his mail along Route 115 in Chestnut Hill Township when he was hit and killed by York. Troopers say York was also driving with a revoked license at the time of the crash.
