Mountaintop, Luzerne County- The Crestwood School District text alert encouraged parents to send their children to school tomorrow.
The Superintendent Dave McLaughlin Smith explained that earlier today three parents were interviewed about conversations they had about the Mayan calendar ending tomorrow.
    Police were also involved.
We're told somehow -- this Mayan calendar event became wrapped in a rumor that there was going to be a shooting in an unspecified school in the area.
The rumor about the shooting -- was just that, a rumor, according to Crestwood's Superintendent
He said It's been investigated and there's nothing to it.
Tomorrow, students at Crestwood will see an increased police presence --- an effort the superintendent says is designed to make students feel more comfortable.
