Dunmore, Lackawanna County - Despite a loss in the state championship game in Hershey Friday afternoon, football fans are still proud of the work accomplished by the Dunmore Bucks.

Dunmore lost to the Clairton Bears 20-0.

While there were hundreds of football fans in Hershey to watch the game first hand, there were also a lot of people in Dunmore watching the action on television.

Many people thought the community of Dunmore would be a "ghost town" but that wasn't the case.

The VFW in Dunmore was full of football fans. Fans were hoping for a win but they weren't disappointed by the loss because they know how hard the team has worked.

"Second place. The silver medal!" Sean Kanavy of Dunmore said. "I mean, they're still doing great against a team that's 62-0. That's a good thing."

As the game began, there was a good crowd at Cara Mia's, a popular lunch spot in Dunmore.

Everyone wanted to watch the Bucks take on the Bears.

"I'm not even a sports-kinda guy but the enthusiasm of the kids this year has just rubbed off that even I'm pretty excited about it," Bob Azzarelli of Dunmore said.

"It doesn't make many any difference where you are, just to see the game. I wanted to see the game," Nancy Rainey of Dunmore said.

At Two Brothers Restaurant, the crowd listened on the radio. Dunmore natives say the team did as best they could.

"They tried and they got this far," Fallon Bouselli of Dunmore said.

Even though the result wasn't what fans were hoping for, people in Dunmore say they're still proud and still "Buck-Wild."

"They got very far and we're really, really proud of them," Cara Lowe, owner of Cara Mia's said.

"They played good. They played hard. They played clean," Azzarelli said.
