Plains Township, Luzerne County - Some planned weddings for 12-12-12, while others were pleasantly surprised as they welcomed new additions into their families on a birthday no one will ever forget!

The date 12/12/12 changed Scott and Ashley's Howell's life forever.  Just before seven this morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley the couple welcomed their first child, seven pound eleven ounce Sophie Emma into the world.

"Last week everyone said, "Any baby, any baby?"  I said not yet, she's waiting and at least holding out until 12/12 to make a grand appearance!"

Ashley was due December 15th but on Tuesday night her water broke and she realized her daughter could possibly be born on a date that has received quite a lot of hype, "It was about 8:30 almost 9 so I said ok I think we can make it to 12/12 this time!"

Being their first baby, her husband Scott had another thing on his mind, "When she told me I didn't really think about the date I just thought get to the hospital!"

Baby Sophie was the first baby born on 12/12/12 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.  It may be just a set of numbers to some but unlike the last 11 years this will be the last such triple date for almost a century.  A birthday no one will ever forget a story that will be shared for a lifetime, "She'll get to say 12/12/12 anytime anyone asks!"
