Milford, Pike County - Tri-State Actors Theater and The Pike County Historical Society (PCHS) are sharing the joy and laughter this holiday season with two performances of David Sedaris' merrily subversive tale, THE SANTALAND DIARIES on Friday and Saturday, December 7th and 8th.
The Santaland Diaries, starring Nicholas Wilder, was adapted for the stage by Joseph Montello from David Sedaris' best-selling book "Holidays on Ice!" The performance begins at 8:00 pm in the Foundation Room of the PCHS, 608 Harford Street, Milford, PA.
The play is based on the author's outlandish real-life experiences as a Macy's Christmas elf. A young man arrives in New York with dreams of being a writer for "One Life to Live" and instead lands a part-time job in a Macy's SantaLand display. He's a latter-day Puck who drolly recounts just what fools these mortals be -- especially when their shopping days are dwindling down to zero.
Crumpet the Elf takes us to the dark side of Macy's SantaLand, from humiliating interview to elf indoctrination to run-ins with miscast Santas, where massive egos clash behind the scenes and frustrated parents wait in endless lines. If you're in the mood to get goofy and giggle, don't deprive yourself of this holiday treat. (Contains mature language and themes)
Seating at the PCHS is limited. Tickets Santaland Diaries are $25.00 in advance, and $30.00 at the door. The performance will be followed by a Wine & Cheese reception with Actor, Nicholas Wilder. To order tickets, call Tri-State at 973 383-0510 or the PCHS at 570 296-8126.
