County Seeks Festival Of Trees Participants
The Lackawanna County "Festival of Trees" exhibit is the first sign that the holiday season is upon us.
The Commissioners Jim Wansacz, Corey D. O'Brien and Patrick M. O'Malley have announced that the Arts & Culture Department is seeking organizations and businesses to decorate trees for this very colorful and festive annual event.
This year's theme is "Green Christmas." The opening exhibit will be Friday, December 14, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Electric City Trolley museum.
The cost to decorate a tree is $50 for non profits and small businesses (50 employees or less) and $100 for corporations (over 50 employees). All participants must provide an artificial tree and the decorations. All proceeds from the event will go to Toys For Tots.
Awards will be presented for first, second and third place along with honorable mention and the Peoples' Choice. The trees will be on display from December 14-31 during the Trolley Museum's regular hours.
