Hazleton Residents Face 60% Tax Hike As Budget Woes Continue

Hazleton, Luzerne County--  Mayor Joe Yannuzzi says the days of fantasy budgets are over and done with and insists the budget for 2013 will be a real fiscal blueprint.  Yannuzzi said, "We are losing land revenues and are operating on a bare bones budget. We cannot continue to count on make believe revenues." Hazleton's Budget is values at just over $8 million dollars but has been seeing declining revenues in recent years." Shirley Fluri from Hazleton said, "I am concerned about a 60 percent increase we are Senior Citizens and can't deal with more expenses. The budget has to be okayed by December 31st.
