Hazle Township, Luzerne County-- Hurricane Sandy ripped much of the roof from the 9th Grade Center in Hazle Township Monday forcing the district to cancel classes on Wednesday. Superintendent Dr. Francis Antonelli said, "I was shocked when I walked in and saw the rof peeled off rthe main wing..the "C" wing of the school. I thought what would have happened if there were stundets and staff in the building at the time of the event?" Repairs were underway at full speed Wednesday and classes were set to resume as normal Thursday morning. Principal Rocco Petrone said, "We want parents to know the education of their kids will not be compromised. They will ahve the same classes at the same time tomorrow but in different classrooms."
