Pottsville, Schuylkill County- The windswept rain fell steadily in downtown Pottsville Monday afternoon as Hurricane Sandy moved ever do closer to the northeast. We saw very few people out and about but those who were in the elements took it in stride.

"It's just smother storm I want to go to the gym as usual. "
said John Donnelly of Pottsville
The parking lot at the Schuylkill Mall was nearly empty by mid afternoon.the folks we spoke with say they are not panicking but they are playing it smart and keeping an eye on Sandy.

" I've never seen anything like this before and have never experienced a hurricane." said Tom Grady of Pottsville.

" it is strange I'm worried about power"  noted Ed Brezanuk of WIlliamsport.

E.M.A. officials on Pottsville- the county's largest community advise residents to play it safe."
