Residents in Schuylkill County Prepare for Sandy (5 pm )

Pottsville, Schuylkill County-Eric Johannsen from Port Carbon in Schuylkill County fills up gas cans just in case the power goes out -- he doesn't want to be left in the dark.

 
"I am masking sure I can power things up in case utilities go down. said Eric Johannsen of Port Carbon

Gas stations all over Schuylkill County like this one in Port Carbon- wanted to make sure they could get from point A to point B regardless if the damage done by Hurricane Sandy.

 

"Just case haven't seen anything like it before." said Jim Johnson of Brodheadsville

The rain fell heavily as the afternoon moved forward. Emergency responders say it remains to be seen where resources will have to be deployed.
 
"The flash flood is not our main concern. The high winds are more of a concern" added John Matz, the Director of Schuylkill County EMA.
