Kingston, Luzerne County-- Ross Kornfeld's two children play in the Luzerne County Lightning Youth basketball League and he is also a sponsor of the league. Kornfeld was shocked when he heard about the arrest of Christopher Walsh on theft charges. Walsh helped form the league and was also a coach. Kornfeld said, "I hope it's not true and I hope they find the missing money in a drawer someplace." Kingston Police and league officers say Walsh stole $6,000 dollars from the league for personal use." Pete Moses who is a coach said, "Mr. Walsh forgot what coaching is really all about! It is about the kids and making them experience great things. It's not about Mr. Walsh and he made it about Mr. Walsh." Moses added, "This is the first day of seeing justice for the kids and parents who have a tough time paying the fees so they can be part of this league." Walsh is free on $25,000 unsecured bail pending a hearing on November 8th. Walsh is also a teacher at the West Hazleton Middle School. Hazleton Superintendent Dr. Francis Antonelli told Eyewitness News that district is researching its legal options with the Walsh case but said Walsh will not be in a classroom until his legal case is resolved."
