Military Essay Contest Deadline Extended

The deadline for the "Honor and Respect What I learned from my family member who served in the Military" has been extended to October 29th.
Essays must be 500 words or less and focus on what the writer has learned from a family member who has served or is serving in the military.
The contest is open to people of all ages. There are five age categories. Elementary grades 4 through 6; Middle School grades 7 and 8; High School grades 9 through 12; College students of any age who are actively enrolled in college and Adult any person age 18 to 100.
Awards will be presented in each category. First place $250, second place $150, and third place $100.
In addition, $100 will be awarded to the library of each first place winner in the elementary, middle and high school category. A panel of judges from the sponsors will judge the entries.
The contest is sponsored by the Family Service Association of the Wyoming Valley, Tri-Vets Community Action Team, Genration 2 Generation and The Times Leader.
