The 26-year-old is currently a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit at Ft. Benning, Ga.
He won the gold medal at World Cup events in Munich 2009 and Acupulco 2010. Richmond won a silver medal at the 2011 World Cup Sydney and a bronze in the 2011 World Cup Chile.
Richmond was named USA Shooting's 2010 Male Athlete of the Year award.
Two local Olympians helped the United States upset No. 2-ranked Argentina on Tuesday 1-0, marking the first time the Americans had defeated their longtime rivals in Olympic competition.

Selenski, a Shavertown native, has never been an Olympian. Her field hockey teammate from Selinsgrove represented her country in the 2008 Beijing Games.

The last two Olympic all-around champions, Carly Patterson (2004) and Nastia Liukin (2008), both hailed not only from the U.S. but from the very same Texas gym. With Michigan's Jordyn Wieber, the reigning world all-around champion, and Virginia-born Gabby Douglas, who trained for the Games in West Des Moines alongside four-time Beijing medalist Shawn Johnson, the U.S. has two gymnasts with gold medal potential. Tonight they're expected to go toe-to-toe with a pair of talented Russian rivals, Aliya Mustafina and Viktoria Komova.
