Hunlock Creek, Luzerne County-- Dozens of youngsters dabbled with flight at a popular event in Luzerne County.

One radio-controlled plane did 175 miles per hour at the Wyoming Valley R.C. Flyers annual "Learn to Fly" day.

A crowd came out to watch and participate Sunday afternoon at Moon Lake Park in Hunlock Creek.

Children even took over the controls of the sleek, radio-controlled machines-- with a little help from some experienced instructors.

The planes cost anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.

For nine-year-old Matthew Good, maneuvering a plane was a dream come true.

Good, of Lehman Township, said, "Well, I always had the dream of going to fly a plane, and I always like watching planes. I came here when I was littler to watch planes fly and everything."

Club members hold this free annual event to help increase interest in their favorite hobby among a new generation of potential pilots.
