Newsmakers opens 2012 with Wyoming Valley Art League

The Wyoming Valley Art League will open the 2012 season for WBRE TV'S Newsmakers.  The monthly public
affairs program is hosted by Senior Producer Jayne Ann Bugda and Lead I-Team Reporter Andy Mehalshick.
    Bugda and Mehalshick will have as their guests, Allison Maslow, President of the WVAL, Don Armstrong, First Vice-President of the WVAL, and Howard Grossman, Immediate Past President of the WVAL.
    The panel will discuss the Art League's long history in the Wyoming Valley beginning back in 1954.  The WVAL is celebrating the new year with its first ever permanent home.  The Art League recently purchased the Luzerne County Medical Arts Building in Wilkes-Barre.  The group will discuss how they hope to make
their new home the not only the center of the art community but a place for the entire community to use and enjoy.
    The discussion will also focus on the many activities the Art League is involved with and how community members can get involved and begin the celebration of the arts.
    Newsmakers will air Sunday, January 8th at 5:30 a.m. and at a special time of 11:30 am following the Meet the Press debate on WBRE.  The program will be re-broadcasted on Sunday, January 15th at 5:30 am on WBRE TV.  Newsmakers will also air on WYOU TV at 6 a.m. on Saturday, January 14th.
