Dave Kuharchik is the host of PA Live! weekdays at 4 PM on WBRE and of course a meteorologist as well!  PA Live! is the area's only lifetsyles newscast featuring local chefs, music, businesses, and other community, and feature news.

Dave joined WBRE / WYOU in 1999.  After a brief hiatus in late 2009, into 2010, he returned in 2011.  Dave has done just about everything at the station.  He's done weekend weather, morning weather, was the Chief Meteorologist on WYOU, and did some news / feature reporting, and now PA Live!  He was the first meteorologist in the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton TV market to earn both the American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation, and the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.  Dave has visited thousands of school kids with his very popular "Dave School" weather program.  In 2005, he was named a "Friend of Education" by the University of Scranton, and also a National Success Story from the Heat Start program.  Dave has sat as a media representative on the advisory board to the National Weather Service, and has organized weather training and safety sessions to the National Weather Service.  Dave always is willing to give some of his time to help local charities and organizations as well.

Dave grew up in Exeter, Luzerne County, and now resides in West Wyoming.  He has three children:  Madison, Emma, and Ava.  In his spare time, he teaches meteorology at Penn State Worthington, swims, skis, works out, plays softball and golf.  His favorite activity is spending time with his three beautiful girls!

Dave has also worked as a meteorologist in the Altoona / Johnstown, and Harrisburg TV markets in Pennsylvania.
