Yankees top pitching prosect, Phil Hughes is making his return after a pair of injuries. On May 1 at Texas, the Yankees' top
prospect pulled a hamstring in the middle of a potential no-hitter. Hughes had
not allowed a run through 6.1 innings when the injury occurred. While rehabbing
the injury in Tampa he suffered a setback after rolling an
ankle.
Hughes
started this afternoon for Trenton and allowed one run on two hits with
two walks and five strikeouts in a 5-1 Thunder win. It was his third official
rehab start and second with Trenton.
With the SWB
Yankees earlier this season the 21-year-old was 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts. For
New York he
was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in two starts.
