For the second consecutive week and the third time this season Wilkes University senior Laurie Agresti (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) has been named the Freedom Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Agresti fashioned a perfect 3-0 record with a stellar 0.30 earned run average during the week for the Lady Colonels.  In 23 innings of work the right-hander struck out 43 hitters and allowed only five walks.  She has now fanned 955 hitters during her career and is attempting to become only the fifth pitcher in NCAA Division III history to reach the 1,000 strikeout mark.  Agresti also surrendered only 11 hits during the week and held the opposition to a mere .143 batting average.

Agresti gave up only three hits and struck out 16 in a 12-2 conference win over Scranton.  She followed up that effort by coming on in relief in game two of their twinbill with the Lady Royals to strike out three hitters in her only inning of work as Wilkes posted a 6-2 victory.  On Saturday she struck out 15 hitters and allowed only four hits in a 2-1 win over FDU-Florham.  She ended the week on Sunday by tossing a four-hitter and fanning nine in a 2-0 win at Elizabethtown.

For the season Agresti has a 12-2 mark on the hill with a 0.83 earned run average.  She has tossed three complete game shutouts and is holding opponents to a .152 batting average.  Agresti has tossed 101 innings, registering 175 strikeouts and walking only 18 hitters.  Agresti is averaging 12.1 strikeouts per game this season.
