The Road to the Final Four Goes Thru Scranton

For the third consecutive year, the Long Center will serve as one of four sectional sites. According to D3hoops.com, Scranton was selected due to geographic considerations.
Friday’s first semifinal game will feature the University of Rochester (22-5) against Bowdoin College (28-1), followed by Mary Washington (28-2) against The University of Scranton (27-2). Tip-off is tentatively set for 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., respectively. The winners will advance to Saturday’s sectional championship, which is tentatively set for 7:00 p.m.
The eventual sectional champion will advance to the Final Four at the Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College on Friday and Saturday, March 16-17, in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Rochester advanced to the sectional semifinals by defeating St. Lawrence, 65-57, and Cortland State, 68-51, while Bowdoin marched on with victories over Mount Holyoke, 74-57, and Keene State, 72-52.
Mary Washington turned back Notre Dame (Md.), 66-30, and Christopher Newport, 77-61, while Scranton advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight year by defeating Lehman College, 64-43, and Hamilton College, 58-52, at the Long Center.
All four teams are currently ranked in the top 25 by D3hoops.com: Bowdoin (1st), Scranton (3rd), Mary Washington (10th), and Rochester (19th).
Tickets for each day are $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for senior citizens, ages 55 and up, and $4.00 for students and children. The official tip-off times and additional ticket information will be announced Monday afternoon.
