Flood Recovery Items Stolen From the Red Cross

(Saturday, July 8) Wilkes-Barre Police say someone stole nearly $30,000 worth of items from the American Red Cross. Cops say the bandit(s) took cleaning materials, shovels, rakes and food that was supposed to benefit victim`s of last weeks floods. All of the items were taken from the Red Cross Warehouse on Spring Street. The thefts were discovered late Friday afternoon. Red Cross officials and police will not say if the robbery is considered an inside job. Some of the stolen items have been recovered in Plains Township and Wilkes-Barre.
