Quick-Thinking Construction Crew Saves Elderly Man

(Thursday, May 11) Fire crews in Lackawanna County say quick thinking by a construction crew saved an elderly man after fire damaged his home. Investigators say Bob Barna and his fellow construction workers saw smoke coming from Donald Ikler`s home on East Mountain Road in Scranton around 11:30 Thursday morning and brought him to safety. Ikler was treated at the scene. Meanwhile, the living room area of the home sustained smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
