Updated: January 7, 2009
(Tuesday April 25) A Luzerne County Prison employee accused of assaulting three inmates was fired by the prison board this afternoon. The decision to fire John Corridoni was unanimous, and the board said it had no other choice. Corridoni worked at the prison for 18 years, but was on unpaid suspension since April 4th. His attorney says his client has been treated unfairly. "I candidly believe that other people who are allegedly involved in all this allegedly participated in various things we`re hearing through the rumor mill has not been similarly treated, he`s been singled out," said Attorney Dan Brier. We are told the Luzerne County District Attorney is now investigating the situation. Two detectives are assigned to the case.
