Changes Coming To The Protection From Abuse Law In Pennsylvania

(Friday, April 14) Pennsylvania is strengthening its protection from abuse act to enhance women`s safety. The new PFA rules will extend the maximum length of protection from 18 months to three years. The PFA amendments will also give courts the authority, even with a temporary order, to confiscate all of a batterer`s guns and weapons. It also increases the penalties for breaking the rules. The new PFA law goes into effect May 9th.
