Marine Buried in Pike County

Updated: January 7, 2009
(Friday, April 7) Hundreds turned out in the pouring rain today to honor the life of a fallen patriot from Pike County. With extreme precision, a marine honor guard carried the casket of 21-year-old Lance Corporal Jacob Beisel into Saint Ann`s Church in Shohola Friday morning. So many people turned out for the service, they had to stand outside the church in the pouring rain. People at the service say they`ll remember Beisel most for being a Marine through and through. "It`s a shame, it`s a loss. He was a young man. It was his dream and exactly what he wanted to do," said James Hoadley, a Veteran. Following Fridays service, Beisel was laid to rest at Saint Mark`s Cemetary in Lackawaxen. Jacob`s family has set up a scholarship fund in his name.
