"Bully Police" Paroling at Pittston Area High

(Tuesday, March 21) Imagine being afraid to go to school. A handful of kids at Pittston Area High say they live with that fear because they are victims of bullying. Tuesday they teamed up with their parents to form the bully police. While the regular school board meeting was in progress inside the high school, these teenagers and their parents protested outside. They are sharing their painful stories to hit home the need for a bullying policy at school. Zachary Smith has been out of school for a month because he cannot take more beatings. "I just really hope that a bullying policy will come into effect because there are kids that are getting hit really bad. Just about a month ago I got a concussion from a bully. I got a concussion and my chest was bruised," The superintendent says the school has met with parents and has even hired several consultants to examine the idea of a bullying policy at the school. Up until now, the harassment policy that exists has been the rule of thumb.
