Monroe County Fire That Destroys Home Under Investigation

Updated: January 7, 2009
(Tuesday, March 21) There`s still no word on the cause of a fire early Tuesday morning that leaves a house in the Poconos in ruins. Flames destroyed the home on Skyhawk Trail at Pocono Forested Acres in Middle Smithfield Township just before four. It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control and the chief says it wasn`t easy because the cold weather kept freezing their pumps and lines. No one was home at the time of the fire. A state police fire marshal was on the scene already Tuesday morning investigating.
