Man in Critical Condition After Fire

(Saturday, January 7) A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after a Friday night fire. Flames broke out in an apartment building on South Oak Street in Mount Carmel around 10:00 PM. When firefighters got to the scene, neighbors told them a man was trapped in a second-floor apartment. He was pulled from the burning building and flown to the Lehigh Valley Burn Center. Right now, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
