Updated: January 25, 2007
County-wide rescue workers responded to the quarry known as Scranton materials on Newton Road in Ransom Township just before six o-clock. When they got there -- they found a tractor trailer.. overturned. Fears were that its driver was crushed under tons of rock and stone. But rescue crews were able to get the indentified man out. Bob Flanagan Lackawanna County EMA says "We don`t believe he has any live threatening injuries...He was pinned the steering wheel was up against him but other than that he is propably one of the most lucky guys i could imagine when you look at what`s down there" Emergency crews took the man to a local hospital for observation. OSHA is expected to be on the scene this weekend.. to investigate how this happened..
